Construction worker killed on site in Musgrave

A construction worker has been killed after a bank of sand
collapsed on him at a site in Musgrave in Durban.

ALS paramedics rushed to Somme Road om Wednesday, where the incident involving the man in his forties happened.
Spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says on arrival they found a group of workers frantically digging to try rescue the man.
"The Ethekwini Fire Department together with ALS Paramedics quickly took over from the workers and managed to free most of his body.

"ALS Paramedics assessed the man and unfortunately found that he had sustained fatal injuries and there was nothing more paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene.
"At this stage the events leading up to the incident are unknown however SAPS together with the Ethekwini Fire Department were on the scene and will be investigating further."
