Zahara is very passionate about fighting Gender-based Violence and has even named it a pandemic in South Africa.
In an interview with ENCA, she spoke about the time a police officer attempted to rape her in East London, Eastern Cape.
She urged women to speak up.
“It’s about time we women told our stories. Let’s not die in silence. Enough is enough. We’re all affected by gender-based violence. Let’s all fight it,” she said.
Zahara said she is honoured to make it onto the BBC 100 Women list.
"I am hugely honored to be included in this amazing list of inspiring and influential woman. Thank you @bbc @bbcnews for selecting me as one of the @bbc100women 2020," she wrote on Instagram.
