Directed by Jean-Marc Vallée, Dallas Buyers Club is based on the real-life story of Texas electrician Ron Woodroof and his battle with the medical establishment after being diagnosed HIV-positive in 1986.
On Sunday, McConaughey won Best Actor at the Oscars for his performance, while Jared Leto scooped an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
The film also won Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
