Scores of people, including former public protector Thuli Madonsela, congratulated Trevor on social media.
"Congratulations @Trevornoah on your @TheDailyShow’s 6 #EmmyNominations. It is a dry season but grit like yours is inspirational for all, particularly young ones," Thuli commented.
One Twitter user praised Trevor for putting together an amazing online show after live audiences were banned amid COVID-19 fears.
"@Trevornoah & his team quickly turned @TheDailyShow into a funny and seamless online show is worth an Emmy imo. He carried that whole late-night show circuit on his back for weeks and weeks before the others could catch up. Some of them haven't even caught up yet."

Well deserved! I watch on YouTube from UK and I think you're brilliant. Your intelligence and humour is perfect and you are right on the money. Fingers crossed you clean up at the Emmys (not literally, cos I still think you look good) 💕#peaceandlove

Much deserved honor to Trevor, Desi, Dulce, Roy, Michael, Lewis, Ronny, Jordan, Jabouki and the amazing writers that have to suffer through hours of the Faux Noise network every day. Keep it up!
Best show on TV. As an old white guy, I look forward to your great choice of guests. I've read quite a few of their books, and am always learning. But mostly, I appreciate your ability to tell an important story with insight and humor. Thank you!
