The winners in the category were announced on night three of the NAACP's week-long festivities.

Trevor was up against Jada Pinkett Smith, Don Lemon, Joy Reid, and LeBron James.

'The Daily Show' also won in the 'Outstanding Short Form Series' for 'Between The Scenes'.

Trevor was nominated in the 'Entertainer of the Year' category alongside Viola Davis, Tyler Perry, Regina King, and D-Nice.

The main ceremony will take place on Saturday, March 27.

The 36-year-old won his first NAACP award in 2017. His book, 'Born A Crime', was recognised in the 'Literary Work - Debut Author' and 'Outstanding Literary Work - Biography / Auto-biography'.

Speaking of 'The Daily Show', Nomzamo Mbatha joined Trevor on the show to chat about her movie, 'Coming 2 America'.

She admitted that being on a first-name basis with Eddie Murphy and the rest of the A-list cast took some getting used to.

“It is crazy. Honestly, it’s been an out-of-body experience for the longest time. But I think you would be able to let me know how to go about this Hollywood thing, because having to call Eddie Murphy, Eddie… it’s been an amazing journey."
