"I remember thinking it felt impossible for a place to be that big, I was sooo insanely nervous."
Taylor Swift is a global icon.
She is used to pulling large crowds at her shows, but her fame and popularity did not come overnight.
There was a time when Taylor used to suffer from stage fright.
She recently spoke about the time she was "sooo insanely nervous" about performing to a large crowd.

Taylor says this occurred in 2006 when she was in Detroit singing the national anthem for the first time at Ford Field during a Detroit Lions game. At the time, Taylor was only 16 years old. She had just released her self-titled debut album.
Taylor told the crowd during 'The Eras Tour' show on Friday, June 9th, that she freaked out during her performance back then.
“The first time that I ever sang at Ford Field was in 2006 at a Lions game singing the National Anthem,” she said to the crowd.
“I was 16-years old and it was like, the biggest place I had ever seen in my life. I was absolutely losing it. So nervous. Freaking out. And now we’re back on 'The Eras Tours'."
Following the show, Taylor also took to Instagram to share the experience with her online followers.
"Ahhhhh Detroit that was so much fun!! First time I performed at Ford Field was singing the anthem there in 2006 and I remember thinking it felt impossible for a place to be that big, I was sooo insanely nervous.
"Thanks to those crowds this weekend for your endless energy and extremely loud scream-singing, you made us feel right at home."
