US star wears Gert-Johan Coetzee on 'The Little Mermaid' red carpet
American singer Chloe Bailey looked gorgeous on the red carpet in a Gert-Johan Coetzee dress.
South African fashion designer Gert-Johan Coetzee has done it again! Another A-list star has been spotted in one of his unique designs.
Chloe Bailey turned heads on the red carpet at the world premiere of 'The Little Mermaid' in Hollywood this week.
The singer's sister, Halle Bailey, plays the lead role of Ariel in Disney's live-action remake of the childhood favourite.
The sisters sing together as a duo called Chloe x Halle. They are the protégés of Grammy Award-winner Beyoncé.
Halle looked flawless in a liquid blue, mermaid-like dress designed by Albanian designer, Valdrin Sahiti. Chloe opted for a custom-made yellow cut-out dress from Gert-Johan Coetzee.
"The flounder to her Ariel," she captioned a picture of her look on Instagram.
Chloe's dress is from the #GERTFollowingTheSun Collection.
South Africa's media personality Bonang Matheba has also been spotted wearing the exact same dress.
She wore the design to the Top Women Awards in November 2022.

Popular US style platform, Fashion Bomb Daily, asked its Instagram users who wore the dress best.
Social media users loved both women in the dress but preferred how Bonang accessorised her outfit and how she did her hair.
"Bonang!! This dress IS the statement. Chloe’s hair, while beautiful, does not compliment this dress well. It definitely requires a more sleek and softer-looking hair like Bonang did. Beautifully done @bonang_m,' one Instagram user wrote.

It's not the first time Gert has dressed an international star. Rapper Cardi B was pictured in one of his dresses in 2020.
She wore a beaded skirt and corset to her husband Offset's birthday party.

Gert seems to have started a trend as the style was a favourite at the 2023 Met Gala.
Celebrities such as Kim Kardashian - who wore pearls and a corset - were spotted in a similar style.
Kim's big sister Kourtney Kardashian wore one of Gert's dresses to the 2011 People's Choice Awards.
