Sophie Ndaba opens up about living with diabetes

Sophie Ndaba says diabetes is not something you wish on your worst enemy.
Sophie Ndaba says living with diabetes for almost a decade has taught her not to take life for granted.
The former 'Generations' star uses her social media platforms to educate people about the condition. Sophie took to Instagram on World Diabetes Day to talk about the struggles she has faced.
"Living with this deadly disease DIABETES for almost a decade has taught me not to take life for granted," the 50-year-old wrote.
Sophie's diabetes condition caused her to lose a lot of weight over the years, which led to some people thinking she was terminally ill. Others even claimed she had HIV.
Some internet trolls have even gone as far as using Sophie's pictures to create death hoaxes.
"Being attacked, teased, laughed at was nothing! Even declared dead most times was nothing! Let me tell you living with Diabetes is not something you wish on your enemy. It's uncomfortable, painful, confusing, deadly and 24/7 monitoring [is] required!" she wrote.

Sophie urged her followers to understand the signs associated with being prediabetic. She also shared some prediabetic information on her Instagram Stories.
"Trust me prevention is better than cure!" She included a few tips in her post that could help people.
- Avoid stress
- Prevent depression
- Have good healthy eating and drinking habits. Water is life.
- Exercise
"Together we can prevent and beat diabetes! Are you prediabetic? Know your status!" Sophie ended her post.
