Somizi Mhlongo is engaged!
Wedding bells will soon be ringing for Somizi and his partner Mohale.
Somizi has revealed that he is set to marry his boyfriend of less than year, Mohale Motaung.
The 45-year-old got down on one knee during a romantic trip to Paris recently.
Somizi popped the question on the "love lock" bridge, which is formally known as the Pont de l'Archevêché bridge.
"Locked," the 'Idols SA' judge captioned a picture with Mohale from the bridge.
Nobody thought anything of the image, until the Sunday Sun broke the news that Somizi was officially off the market following his trip to Europe.
The paper claimed that the couple, who are "totally in love and are very happy", plan to get married before the end of the year.
Somizi confirmed the engagement news this morning.
"Yes, I did. (It was) on the 'love lock' bridge with the Eiffel Tower behind us. I've watched too many movies obviously," he said on the 'Fresh Breakfast' show.
Somizi added that he "wanted to wait for the right time to tell everyone", but the tabloids beat him to it.
He revealed that his fans should not expect him to be engaged for a long time.
"I'm not a long time engager. I'm not talking about getting engaged seven years ago. It must be within a year-ish," the Daily Sun quoted him as saying on the show.
Somizi took to Instagram to share a video of the diamond ring he bought Mohale.
"It’s a Big YESSSSS. it’s a golden ticket," he captioned the image.
