"I want my dad," Sbahle Mpisane tells hospital staff.
Sbahle Mpisane has uttered her first words since the Women's Day car crash that left her fighting for her life.
The fitness guru has been in and out of surgery since the accident and at one point was placed on life support to help her breathe.
But Sbahle has made good progress in recent days. She was able to speak for the first time on Sunday.
"I want my dad," she reportedly told hospital staff.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, her father, Sbu Mpisane, says they are thrilled about her latest development.
"For me she has come back to life. I have said all this time she is a fighter and now she has spoken for the first time,” he told the publication.
The 25-year-old was seriously injured when her car overturned on Margaret Mncadi Avenue (formerly Victoria Embankment) in Durban on August 9. The vehicle hit a pole and palm tree before bursting into flames. Good Samaritans rushed to her aid and quickly doused the fire before it engulfed the vehicle.

The jaws of life had to be used to free Sbahle, who was rushed to Netcare's St Augustine's Hospital, where she spent several days in ICU.
Sbu has kept vigil by his daughter's side ever since. Shauwn Mpisane, the former Metro cop's wife, has also visited her in hospital.
According to a City Press report, the couple is heading for splitsville but have put their differences aside to focus on Sbahle's recovery.
