Rose McGowan labels Oprah Winfrey "fake as they come"

"I wish she were real, but she isn't" - Rose McGowan slammed Oprah in a scathing post on Twitter.
Former 'Charmed' actress Rose McGowan has fired shots at Oprah Winfrey.
She lashed out at Oprah on Twitter, accusing the media mogul of "supporting a sick power structure for personal gain".
"I am glad more are seeing the ugly truth of @Oprah. I wish she were real, but she isn't. From being pals with [Harvey] Weinstein to abandoning & destroying Russell Simmon's [sic] victims, she is about supporting a sick power structure for personal gain, she is as fake as they come. #lizard," she wrote.

Rose made the comments after an old interview Oprah did with Dolly Parton resurfaced online. The talk show host asked Dolly about her cosmetic surgeries and her "huge depression".
Many did not like how Oprah asked the questions, with some saying she tried to embarrass the country singer.

My issue is, it was okay for @Oprah to ask @DollyParton but people WENT CRAZY when @megynkelly asked @Janefonda! https://t.co/AbjyS5hmQ8

Some people came to Oprah's defence, saying that Dolly has been asked the same questions by other interviewers.
"Are we all going to act like this is the 1st time she’s been asked that?…even though we know it isn’t. Oprah started out by saying 'you’ve been open about having things nipped, tucked and sucked'. I hate when young people think they’ve found a 'got you' moment. This ain’t it."

Discussions around the video then led to people bringing up convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein.
Before his downfall, Harvey had been on good terms with many A-listers. Oprah, and several other stars, made headlines in 2020 after a fake news report claimed she was locked up in prison for sex trafficking.
Tom Hanks, Celine Dion, Madonna, Ellen DeGeneres, Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and Kevin Spacey were also mentioned in the reports. One report claimed Harvey Weinstein had dirt on the stars.
Oprah denied she was holding children against their will in an underground tunnel.
Oprah also made headlines last year when she decided to pull out of a documentary that addresses sexual abuse claims against Russell Simmons.
"In my opinion, there is more work to be done on the film to illuminate the full scope of what the victims endured and it has become clear that the filmmakers and I are not aligned in that creative vision," she said at the time.
