Report: Dineo Ranaka admitted to mental wellness facility
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
"She is really fighting," a friend says about Dineo's hospitalisation.
Dineo Ranaka has reportedly been admitted to a mental wellness clinic for treatment following a recent spate of concerning posts on social media.
According to Zimoja, the media personality checked into a clinic in Pretoria earlier this week.
Dineo's shocked her 1.2-million Instagram followers last week Tuesday when she revealed that she was having suicidal thoughts.
"I completely understand souls/spirits/people who commit suicide. I get it. I get them. Because I'm trying my best to not commit suicide," she wrote.

Dineo's friends and family have since rallied around her to offer their support.
"Strength is you and YOU are strength. I'm committed to showing you what that means if you can't see it or feel it," her sister Manaka Ranaka said.

A family friend says "Dineo is a fighter" and she will be okay.
"She appreciates all the messages she has received from everyone. She hasn't been able to respond to everyone, but she is fighting. She is really fighting... Dineo is a fighter; everyone knows that," the friend told Zimoja.
Dineo has opened up about her depression in the past. She discussed her mental health struggles in a three-part video series called, 'Find Your Feet'.
“I have been thinking quite a lot, I’ll be honest. I’ve been thinking about ... how I’ve been feeling, life experiences in the past three years, how they have made me feel and how they’ve changed me,” she said in the video shared in March.
The mother of three added that she has been doing a lot of soul-searching and reflection.
"She added that she was suffering from psychological trauma.
“I’ve been in a state of stress and anxiety, just trying to figure out how I’m going to re-navigate myself from the psychological trauma... I think the solution I’ve got, it’s all giving me stress and making me anxious... making me congested mentally."

Dineo's battle with mental health - particularly her anxiety - was the inspiration for her new shoe and clothing line.
She named the line ANXY. Dineo worked on the project while going through a divorce. She put all her pain and heartbreak into creating something that makes her feel good.
"Imma just keep showing up while I keep finding my feet through life. The beginning of a new chapter needs new shoes!" she captioned a behind-the-scenes video of herself working on her clothing line.
ANXY launched with a pair of white sneakers called 'Defenders'. Dineo has plans to add other products including clothes and underwear.
