Pearl Thusi set to star in Africa’s first Netflix original

Actress Pearl Thusi just shared some big news about her career.
Pearl Thusi just bagged a big acting gig. The actress has announced that she will star in Netflix's first ever African original series.
'Queen Sono' will be streamed in 190 countries when it premieres in 2019.
Pearl plays a South African spy in the series.
"#QueenSono - Africa’s first @netflix original ! A thrilling story about a kickass female spy. Can’t wait for you guys to see what we have in store for you ! @NetflixSA," the 30-year-old wrote on Twitter.

The 'Quantico' star added that the show will be a game changer.
"It is going to change the game for every artist on this continent. I cannot wait for every young woman, every woman on this continent and on this planet to meet Queen Sono. We’ve worked so hard for this."
The series was created by actor and director Kagiso Lediga, as well as executive producer Tamsin Andersson.
Both Kagiso and Tamsin worked on the local movie 'Catching Feelings', which launched globally on Netflix in May.
Pearl and Kagiso played the lead roles in the film.
We can't wait to see what 'Queen Sono' has to offer.
