One of KZN’s top chefs dishes up advice
Updated | By Anisa
One of KZN’s top chefs is trying to get more people into their kitchens!
Award-winning Jackie Cameron, who is the head chef at the celebrated Hartford House in the Midlands, says she is not trying to prove to the world that I can cook. Instead, she wants to get people back into their kitchens.
Jackie Cameron Cooks At Home showcases Jackie literally in her home, sharing some of her favourite recipes; recipes she grew up with.
Speaking to ECR’s Anisa Ussuph, Jackie says: “I just remember looking back to my childhood, we had one recipe book for muffins, one for cakes, one for rusks and this is really a book that has all my favourites and bests.”
“You’re looking at recipes that work because so often I’ve heard people saying they’ve tried this recipe from some recipe book and they’ve tried that recipe and they just get disappointed. Jackie Cameron Cooks At Home has recipes that I have tried and tested again and again. For instance, my favourite 30 day muffin recipes, pork pies, fish cakes, chocolate mousse…you know it really isn’t complicated.”
Jackie’s advice for all home cooks is to keep things simple and to have fun!
Jackie Cameron Cooks At Home retails for R250.
