Meghan Trainor apologises for harsh words about teachers

"I love teachers, I think they have the hardest job and they're the most underpaid," says Meghan Trainor after rubbing educators the wrong way with her "careless" comments.
Singer Meghan Trainor is backtracking on remarks she made about teachers on her 'Workin’ On It' podcast.
The 'Made You Look' hitmaker says she is sorry for saying "f**k teachers" during a discussion about motherhood with YouTube star Trisha Paytas.
The women discussed various issues, including child safety, following a number of school shootings in America.
"We’re homeschooling our kids. F**k that, everyone on TikTok is, they're like ‘This is what it’s like to have a kid in school America. I have a bulletproof backpack.’ I was like, f**k all that," Us Weekly quoted her as saying on the podcast.
Trisha, who became a mom for the first time in 2022, then shared that she had been bullied by both pupils and teachers when she was in school.
"F** teachers," Meghan responded.

Many teachers were less than impressed with Meghan's remark.
"Teachers get enough hate and from someone who I used to love, someone with such a strong background, someone who I thought was kind. Don’t speak for all teachers. We would do anything for our students," one Instagram user wrote.
Another user added: "I totally respect your decision to homeschool and your concerns about American education…however “F- teachers dude” and placing blame on those who are pushing for change and are working in a place many won’t is so disappointing."

Meghan Trainor apologises to teachers
Meghan has since apologised, saying her comments were not meant for all teachers.
"Teachers of TikTok and teachers of the world, I recently said 'F teachers' on the podcast and it’s not how I feel. I was fired up because we were talking about how sending your kid to school here in America is so horrific," she said in a video shared on TikTok.
She continued: "What all of us have to go through, but especially teachers, is not normal and not okay. I had Trisha Paytas on the podcast and I knew her history with her teachers, and I knew my husband's history with his teachers, and I was bullied by some teachers. So in that moment, I got angry and said 'F teachers, F those specific human beings back in the day.'"
The 29-year-old added that she admires teachers.
"I love teachers, I fight for teachers. I think they have the hardest job and they are the most underpaid. They are the most unappreciated when they literally raise all of us. I don’t want to make excuses, I am just so sorry. I am so sorry to any teachers who I made feel bad. And I will remind myself that my words definitely could have a consequence, and I will be more careful."
But some social media users are not accepting her apology.
"Girl BYE," one woman commened on TikTok.
