The family of Mandla 'Mampintsha' Maphumulo has been hit with another tragedy.
The family of Mandla 'Mampintsha' Maphumulo is going through an incredibly tough time. Less than a month after the musician died, his sister confirmed the death of their mother, Zamanguni 'Zama' Gumede.
Mampintsha died on Christmas Eve after suffering a minor stroke. He was 40.
According to the Sunday World, Zamanguni died on Sunday at Durban's Wentworth Hospital. She had previously suffered a stroke and her condition is said to have worsened after her son's death.
Mampintsha's sister, Pinki Gumede, confirmed their mother's death in an interview with TshisaLive. She told the publication that their mom called her shortly before her passing.
“She called us at 10pm to come visit her at the hospital, me and my children. When we arrived she said she wanted to say her last goodbyes. She left us at 11pm," Pinki said.
She added that Zamanguni also asked to see Mampintsha's son. Pinki promised to bring him to the hospital the next morning. Sadly, she passed away before she could see her grandson.

Mampintsha and his mother had a rocky relationship but tried to iron out their differences in recent years. His wife, Bongekile ‘Babes Wodumo’ Simelane, also had a strained relationship with his mother.
The pair have shared their dislike for each other on several occasions. Babes extended an olive branch to her mother-in-law at Mampintsha's funeral.
"I want to forgive you for all your sins because I am a child of a pastor, and I am saved. I forgive you. May whatever it is that is making us fight end today," City Press quoted her as saying.
Mampintsha's sister now has the difficult task of burying their mother, weeks after saying goodbye to him.
“I don't know why they have left me. I am not okay."
