The 'Queen of Pop' says love from family and friends is the best medicine.
Madonna says she feels lucky to be alive after a health scare that resulted in her being admitted to hospital.
The 64-year-old suffered a serious bacterial infection and spent several days in ICU. She has since been released from hospital.
The 'Material Girl' hitmaker credits her family, especially her children, for helping her get through the difficult period.
"Love from family and friends is the best Medicine. One month out of the hospital and I can reflect. As a Mother you can really get caught up In the needs Of your children and the seemingly endless giving... But when the chips were down my children really showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference," she wrote on Instagram.
Madonna has six children. Her 26-year-old daughter, Lourdes - whom she shares with fitness trainer Carlos Leon - was reportedly by her side throughout her hospital stay.
The 'Queen of Pop' also has a son named Rocco from her previous relationship with actor Guy Ritchie. Madonna is also a mom to four children she adopted from Malawi - David, Mercy, and twins Stella and Estere.
