Lizzo tells body-shamers: "I am the beauty standard"

Lizzo is once again sticking it to her haters by declaring that her "rocking" plus-size body is the beauty standard. 

The body-positive activist took to Instagram to share an important video with her 13-million followers. 

"I just finished showering and doing my little routine and you know what I realised - I'm f***ing gorgeous. I am the beauty standard," the 34-year-old says in the clip.

The 34-year-old added in the video's caption: "I’m sorry that my perfect face & rockin body offends you… I can’t help that I’m God’s favorite."

Lizzo's fans applauded her for being unapologetic about who she is and how she looks. 

"Keep up the body positivity!! You are legit gorgeous and have the most beautiful skin I have ever seen. Your face glows without makeup, it’s miraculous!! Your positivity will always win against their negativity," one Instagram wrote. 

Another fan added: "Lizzo!! I love you!! I’m a plus-size woman and you’ve made me embrace my beautiful curves. Thanks for representing the big girls. Thanks for also putting big girls in your shows, videos, as backup dancers.. etc. we need to see it to believe we can do it sometimes, so thanks for not being afraid to be you!"

Lizzo's post comes a few days after Ariana Grande thanked her for standing up against body-shamers and raising awareness about the scrutiny women constantly face because of their weight. 

Ariana was recently skinny-shamed for her drastic weight loss. 

Not only did Ariana address the harsh comments on her TikTok page, but she also reposted an inspiring message Lizzo shared earlier this year about body positivity.

"This is body art," Ariana captioned the clip.

In the video, Lizzo say the discourse around bodies is officially tired.

"I have seen comments go from, ‘Oh my gosh, I liked you when you were thick why’d you lose weight?’ to ‘Oh my gosh, why did you get a BBL I liked your body before’ to ‘Oh my gosh, you’re so big you need to lose weight but for your health’... Do we realize that artists are not here to fit into your beauty standards? Artists are here to make art. And this body is art. And I’m going to do whatever I want with this body."
