Lira stroke update: 'Please keep your prayers coming'

Lira is making progress every day despite her speech still being affected.
Afro-pop singer Lira says she is on the road to recovery following her recent stroke. The 'Something Inside So Strong' hitmaker shared an update on her condition this week.
Lira's team revealed in April that she had been hospitalised after suffering a stroke in Germany. Her ability to communicate was affected.
Lira, whose real name is Lerato Molapo, says her speech is still impacted but she is doing well.
"Thank you for your overwhelming love, support, and prayers. I am recovering well. Physically I have been unaffected, I am strong and healthy. The stroke has unfortunately affected my speech, however I am making lots of progress every day," she wrote.
The 43-year-old asked her fans to continue praying for her.
"I will be taking some time to focus on my recovery. Please keep your prayers coming, I can’t wait to be back soon."
Several celebrities took to the comments section to show their support.
"God bless you, sweetheart. He’s got you in the palm of His hand," Basetsana Kumalo commented. Salamina Mosese wrote: "Queen. You are loved. God’s best is wished for you."

Soapie star Joyce Skefu also suffered a mild stroke this year. The actress shared a picture of herself from her hospital bed in March.
"I was quiet because I had a mild stroke, got hospitalized but God did it again. I am doing therapies and getting better daily, but I sincerely thank you cause you were my strength even if did not know. Thank you for your amazing love," she revealed.

Joyce has since returned to social media to thank her friend and fellow actress, Kgomotso Christopher, for her support.
"Today I am looking back at beautiful memories of work and short left, and this is my prayer, in
the name of Jesus this shall come back again, this challenge will pass over me
and I shall live to declare the goodness of God amongst the living. amen and
amen. Thank Kgomotso for the support, you are a beautiful soul," she wrote.
