Liesl Laurie surprises her grandmother with a new car

Ouma Laurie got the surprise of a lifetime when her granddaughter, Liesl, and her husband paid her a visit.
Many adult children dream of repaying their parents and grandparents for raising them, but in today's economy, very few people are able to do so.
Former Miss South Africa Liesl Laurie was able to make that dream a reality for a very special woman in her life.
She returned to Eldorado Park last week to surprise her grandmother Lola with a brand-new car. "It is only by the Grace of God that I am able to do this for my grandmother," she wrote on Instagram.
Liesl says she is grateful that she is able to show her grandmother how much she loves her while she still walks the earth.
"Thank you for being Ouma Laurie (Lola) to me, to your family, the church and the greater Eldorado Park. You deserve this. I love you!!! I am so grateful that I could spoil my ouma whilst she is still here on earth with us," she wrote.
The 31-year-old also gave her husband, Dr Musa Mthombeni, a shoutout. "To my amazing husband, thank you for helping me pull this off. I love you so much!"

Liesl's grandmother played a special role in her life. The beauty queen revealed in 2015 that her "gogo" raised her.
Liesl's father was not present in her life growing up and her mother, Karen Laurie, had a substance abuse problem. Shortly after winning the Miss SA title in 2015, she told the Daily Sun that she helped her mother conquer the drug habit.
"It was such a dark and tough time... I sometimes felt embarrassed by my mother's drug habit but she overcame it and I am proud of her," Liesl told the publication.
She also revealed that her grandmother provided for her family when her mother was not working.
"Life was tough while I battled my drug addiction," Karen admitted.
