Kim Kardashian's SKIMS company now valued at R71-billion
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Some might say it's not bad for a woman whose talents include taking the best selfies, but it looks like Kim's real talent is being business savvy.
Kim Kardashian's net worth just got a whole lot bigger. The 42-year-old's popular shapewear and clothing company SKIMS is now worth a whopping $4-billion (R71-billion).
The reality TV star co-founded the brand in 2019 with Emma Grede and her husband Jens Grede.
Emma is also the co-founder of Khloe Kardashian's Good American and Kris Jenner's Safely.
SKIMS helped push Kim to billionaire status in 2021.
Fast-forward to 2023, and SKIMS is now one of the most in-demand brands in the world.
According to The New York Times, the company has raised a further $270-million in funding, pushing its valuation to $4-billion.
“It has grown quickly, and we’re so proud of that. We’ve had a really good flow of product launches," told the publication.
SKIMS is reportedly on track to make $750-million (R13.3-billion) in sales in 2023.

According to Forbes, the latest valuation made Kim $500-million (R8.9-billion) richer. 'The Kardashians' star reportedly owns a majority stake in the company.
Kim's net worth now sits at $1.7-billion (R30-billion).
The mother of four - who is currently studying to become a lawyer - owns several other companies including a skincare brand called SKKN by Kim. She also co-founded SKKY Partners in 2022, which plays in the private equity space.
Despite many doubting that the star has any talent other than taking gorgeous pictures, Kim says her talent lies in marketing.
"I think my talent is marketing and the business behind selling products and knowing what the customer wants and making it feel attainable, but also a bit unattainable at the same time. I wouldn't say that's a talent. I think it's a bit of magic and business savvy. Maybe it is talent, I don't know," she told Interview magazine in 2022.
Love her or hate her, but there's no stopping Kim Kardashian!
