"Keep fighting" - Kelly Khumalo tells suicidal woman
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Kelly had some comforting words for a Twitter user who admitted she thought about taking her own life.
No one understands the power of a kind word more than Kelly Khumalo.
The singer has had her fair share of hardships, and recently recorded a song about the wars she has had to fight in her life.
So it comes as no surprise that the 35-year-old was able to empathise with a woman on Twitter who revealed she came close to committing suicide.
"My son gave me a million kisses last night. Ngathi he knew that I was planning to kill myself. He is literally the only reason I didn't take that poison. The only reason I keep fighting is because of my kids. They deserve a mother," the woman wrote.
Kelly encouraged her to keep fighting for her children.
"Danica, those babies need you sisi, you are their world. Imagine what life would be for them without you. I might not know your pain, but I know that life doesn’t give us what we deserve but what we fight for. So keep fighting," she replied.

Kelly has been a victim of cyberbullying for years and has been labelled a 'cursed woman' by internet trolls who think any men who get involved with her will suffer dearly.
While the 'Dance Comigo' hitmaker has no doubt been hurt by the mean comments, she refuses to let her haters get her down.
She told TshisaLIVE in a recent interview that her new song, 'Empini', is about a strong woman who "conquered everything that was meant to destroy".
"The song is not just about my personal war, it's about the wars that we — as individuals and as people — are facing on a daily basis. If you look at where we are right now, there are so many battles that we are faced with. From Covid-19 to GBV, to racism and the list goes on and on [and] on.”
