John Legend and Chrissy Teigen welcome baby #4 via surrogate
Updated | By Tamlyn Canham
Chrissy says she has always wanted four children but was unsure if her dream would become a reality after suffering a miscarriage in 2020.
John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen are officially parents to four children. They announced on Wednesday that they welcomed a baby boy via surrogate.
The baby's arrival comes five months after Chrissy gave birth to their third child - a daughter named Esti. The couple are also parents to Luna (6) and Miles (4).
John and Chrissy have decided to name the newest addition to the family Wren.
"Wren Alexander Stephens, our new love," the Grammy Award-winner captioned a picture with all four of his children.

In a lengthy post on her Instagram page, Chrissy revealed how they ended up with a surrogate and why their babies ended up being born so close together.
The 37-year-old says she has always wanted to have four children, but after losing her son Jack during a 2020 pregnancy, she wasn't sure if she would carry again.
"In 2021, we reached out to a surrogacy agency, with our first correspondence inquiring about perhaps having 2 tandem surrogates, to each bring us a healthy baby boy or girl. Twins, kinda?" she wrote.
The 'Cravings' cookbook author says after a session with her therapist, she decided to try to carry one of the babies herself and started IVF. The former model also underwent IVF to welcome her first two children.
Meanwhile, the first embryo transfer they tried with their surrogate Alexandra didn't survive. She eventually became pregnant after another attempt. Chrissy was in her first trimester at this stage.
"We ate hot pot to celebrate, watched Vanderpump Rules with our growing bellies, our families blending into one for the past year."
Chrissy also developed a close relationship with her "incredible, loving, compassionate" surrogate.
"Just minutes before midnight on June 19th, I got to witness the most beautiful woman, my friend, my surrogate, give birth amidst a bit of chaos, but with strength and pure joy and love.
"We want to say thank you for this incredible gift you have given us, Alexandra. And we are so happy to tell the world he is here, with a name forever connected to you, Wren Alexander Stephens."
