Rising star Tyla Seethal has penned an international record deal - and we are so excited for her!
Tyla Seethal's 'Getting Late' single has been streamed more than one-million times, and now the South African singer is taking her music overseas.
The 19-year-old has revealed that she is now signed with Sony’s Epic Records USA.
"GUYS! I can finally announce that your South African girl has a MAJOR GLOBAL RECORD DEAL. When I sang the words to Getting Late for the first time, I never imagined it would become the song that made my dreams come true.
"I am so proud to finally reveal that I am now signed to Sony’s Epic records USA @epicrecords @sonymusic," she wrote on Instagram.
Epic Records says it's "proud" to welcome her to the family. The label says she has "all the qualities of a true career superstar".
Mariah Carey, Camila Cabello, DJ Khaled, Travis Scott, and Sho Madjozi are also signed with Epic.
Tyla is the breakout star of 2021 thanks to the popularity of 'Getting Late'. The song shows off her unique pop and amapiano sound.
Many people have described her as South Africa's Ariana Grande. But her diehard fans say she is a star in her own right.
"This is Tyla... Write her name instead of calling her South Africa's Ariana. I'm sure she worked hard to get here, stop putting her under Ariana's shadow. Let only she shine please," one fan commented on YouTube.
The video for 'Getting Late' has been watched more than two-million times since its release in January.
