"It's definitely a wake-up call for her," says the man who allegedly provided her with "aftermarket pills".
Brandon Johnson, the man who allegedly gave Demi Lovato drugs before her apparent overdose last month, claims she knew the risks associated with the drugs she was taking.
Speaking to TMZ, Brandon - who says he cares about Demi, claimed she texted him and asked him to stop by her Hollywood mansion.
"She texted me at four o' clock in the morning because she's a girl and she wanted to kick it," he told a reporter in an impromptu on-camera interview outside a restaurant.
Brandon, who claims the former Disney star was "a little drunk" when he showed up, says she "has long hours and stressful days" and wanted to "unwind".

He claims he told her the drugs he gave her were "aftermarket pills" and pharmaceuticals.
"100% she knew what she was taking. They're aftermarket pills and they're much stronger. She [Demi] understood fully and it's unfortunate what happened."
He allegedly says he "hung out" and watched "true crime detective shows" before Demi fell asleep at around 7am, at which point he left.
"When I was with her she was fine, for the whole time."
Emergency officials were called to Demi's house on July 24 after her friends found her unconscious.

Brandon, who has had a few run-ins with the police for drug-related issues, says the incident is a "wake-up call".
"It's definitely a wake-up call for her obviously and for me, it definitely opened my eyes to the dangers of these drugs. They're fun... but they can be harmful. I'd hate to hurt anybody. I'm not trying to hurt my friend. She's a really good friend of mine. I care for her a lot. I hope she's OK," he told TMZ.
Demi started a rehab program shortly after leaving the hospital.
