KZN-born actress Thuso Mbedu has written a beautiful letter thanking South Africans for always showing up to support her.
Thuso Medu says she doesn't have the words to describe how she felt during her recent visit to South Africa. The 2022 Spirt Awards winner was in the country last week to promote her new movie, 'The Woman King'.
The film, which debuted at #1 in America during its premiere weekend, stars Oscar-winner, Viola Davis, and several other local stars including Zozibini Tunzi and Siv Ngesi.
Thuso wrapped up her local press tour last week with a visit to her hometown Pietermaritzburg. She met with local officials. The two-time International Emmy nominee also visited learners from her old school, Pelham Primary School.
"It was very important to me to wrap up the South African press tour of @WomanKingMovie with a visit to the land of my birth - KwaZulu Natal. My heart is full," she wrote on Twitter.

Several local stars attended the premiere including Boity Thulo, Miss Supranational Lalela Mswane, Minnie Dlamini, Dr Musa Mthombeni and his wife former South Africa Liesl Laurie.
Thuso took to Instagram this week to reflect on her amazing visit to SA.
"I now have a moment to pause and reflect… This was day 1 of the South African press tour. It was amazing. I don’t actually have the words to describe the experience. Thank you to those who joined us at Warrior Training; to NSA, @savethechildrensouthafrica, Daliwonga Secondary School and the Wits School of Arts for havingn us," she wrote.
The 31-year-old also added a short letter:
Dear South Africa,
You showed up in an amazing way for me and the cast of The Woman King. May you do for others as you did for me. Blessings on blessings to you. I pray that you get to fully live out your dreams.
