Chadwick Boseman set to receive Hollywood Walk of Fame star
The late 'Black Panther' star will be honoured in 2024.
Chadwick Boseman is gone but not forgotten. It was announced this week that the actor will receive a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The historical landmark is located in Los Angeles. Chadwick died in 2020 after losing his battle with colon cancer. He was 43.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce received hundreds of nominations for inclusion in six categories. Chadwick was one of eight people selected in the 'Motion Pictures' category.
Gal Gadot, Christina Ricci, Kevin Feige, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Chris Pine, Chris Meledandri, and 2023 Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh were also selected.
The Class of 2024 also includes singers Toni Braxton, Gwen Stefani, Andre ‘Dr. Dre’ Young, and Brandy Norwood. Popular radio personality Angie Martinez will also get a star.
"The [Selection] Committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people. We can't wait to see each honoree's reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood's history with the unveiling of their star on the world's most famous walkway!" Ellen K, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, said in a statement.
Last year, Chadwick received a posthumous Creative Arts Emmy Award for his voiceover work in Marvel's 'What If...?'.

Meanwhile, Chadwick's 'Black Panther' co-star Angela Bassett will also be receiving a special honour soon.
The 64-year-old will receive an honorary Oscar for her life's work as an actress. Angela has worked in the industry for over three decades. She has starred in movies such as 'How Stella Got Her Groove Back', 'Malcom X', and 'The Rosa Parks Story'.
The actress received her first Oscar nomination for her role as Tina Turner in the 1993 movie, 'What's Love Got To Do With It'.
She was also nominated for "Best Supporting Actress' at the 2023 Oscars for 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'.
Jamie Lee Curtis won the award for 'Everything Everywhere All At Once'.
Actor Mel Brooks and film editor Carol Littleton will also receive Academy Honorary Awards. Michelle Satter, Founding Director of Sundance Institute's Feature Film Program, will be honoured with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
"The Academy’s Board of Governors is thrilled to honor four trailblazers who have transformed the film industry and inspired generations of filmmakers and movie fans. Across her decades-long career, Angela Bassett has continued to deliver transcendent performances that set new standards in acting," Academy President Janet Yang said in a statement.
Angela and the rest of the honourees will receive their awards at the 14th Governors Awards on November 18.
