BTS cancels tours amid COVID-19 pandemic

BTS will be be hosting virtual performances for its fans following the cancellation of live shows.
K-Pop superstars BTS have announced that they will no longer be hosting live shows.
Last year, the boys released their fourth studio album, 'Map of the Soul: 7', which they had planned to promote with a tour.
But their plans were disrupted by the global coronavirus pandemic.
The 'Butter' hitmakers took to social media to announce that "due to changing circumstances beyond their control, they will no longer be continuing with their tour".

"Our company has worked hard to resume preparations for the BTS Map of the Soul Tour, knowing that all fans have been waiting eagerly and long for the tour. Due to changing circumstances beyond our control, it has become difficult to resume performances at the same scale and timeline as previously planned," the band said in a statement.
"Therefore we must announce the cancellation of the BTS Map of the Soul Tour," read the statement.
"Once again, please allow us to offer our sincere apology to all fans who have waited for the BTS Map of the Soul Tour to resume."
The band said it will now be hosting virtual shows. "We are working to prepare a viable schedule and performance format that can meet your expectations, and we will provide updated notices as soon as possible," it announced.
