Bonang Matheba opens up about her life in New York

South Africa's media darling has revealed what she got up to during her nearly one-year stay in New York City.
It seems like just yesterday that Bonang Matheba returned to South Africa from New York, but the 34-year-old says she is ready to return to the Big Apple.
Queen B - as her fans call her - relocated to the famous American city in May last year. She had been talking about her plans to move abroad since 2019 but her dreams were delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bonang kept a fairly low profile on social media during her stay in NYC but occasionally gave the B-Force a glimpse of her new life.
She attended several red carpet events including the MTV Video Music Awards and New York Fashion Week. Queen B was also spotted hanging out with stars such as Australian model, Duckie Thot.
During a visit to Times Square, Bonang was mistaken for actress Zoe Saldana. Despite hinting that she would be working on a few projects, her trip seemed to be more about pleasure than business.
But Bonang says she was hard at work behind the scenes working on her career goals.

Bonang returned to South Africa in late 2021 to visit her family and friends as well as deal with a few business matters.
Speaking to Drum magazine, Bonang says she will be returning to NYC very soon.
"I am home, but I am still very much a New York girl. I will be going back in a couple of days," she told the publication.
Queen B added that she has been "hush-hush" about what she has been doing in America but fans will be "pleasantly surprised" when all is revealed.
"I was working. People tend to think that when they don’t see what it is that you are doing, you are not busy, but I have many surprises on the pipeline."

She might be heading back to New York this month but it won't be the last time we see or hear from her. Before relocating to the US, Bonang's management team made it clear that it won't be a "permanent goodbye".
“Bonang is planning on having homes on both sides. She LOVES her home, she loves this country and she’s got a lot of business projects which require her input in Mzansi so she won’t be leaving permanently. She will spend her time on both sides of the ocean,” her manager told All4Women.
