Beyoncé and Jay-Z spend R3.8-billion on new mansion
The power couple just bought the most expensive house in California and the second most expensive in America.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z are investing in some serious real estate. According to several reports, the musicians just purchased a 30,000-square-foot beachfront mansion in Malibu, California.
With a price tag of $200-million (R3.8-billion), it's the most expensive home ever purchased in California.
It is also the second most expensive in America. The most expensive home in the country is a luxury New York City penthouse which was sold for a whopping $238-million. It went on sale in November 2022 for an eye-watering $250-million.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z's new mansion is located on what is known as 'Billionaires' Row'. It overlooks the Pacific Ocean.

According to TMZ, the couple actually got a deal on the pricy home. It was originally listed at $295-million.
The home is designed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando. Kim Kardashian has been working with the architect on a new project.
"Met with the master himself, Tadao Ando to review and discuss a dream project we have been working on for the past two years. I visited his office in Japan so that we could make the finishing touches before we break ground. So deeply honored and incredibly humbled to have the opportunity to work with him and finally see this special project come to life," she wrote on Instagram in April.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z net worth
Beyoncé and Jay-Z's Malibu mansion reportedly doubles up as an art museum. Its first owners, Bill and Maria Bell, reportedly designed it in a way that showcases their impressive art collection.
Queen B and Jay are also art collectors. In 2013, Jay-Z forked out $4.5-million (R87-million) on a Jean-Michel Basquiat painting.
The couple also owns pieces by Richard Prince, Damien Hirst, David Hammons, Andy Warhol, and Richard Prince.
With a combined net worth of nearly $3-billion (Beyoncé has a net worth $450-million, while Jay-Z is worth $2.5-billion), we doubt the pair are sweating over their new purchase.
They previously purchased a Bel-Air mansion for $88-million. It is now worth over $100-million.
