Uncle Waffles turns heads at Coachella

Uncle Waffles got the crowd dancing during her Coachella set.
South African-based DJ, Uncle Waffles, made a big splash during her first weekend at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California.
It's the 23-year-old's first time performing at the annual festival, which attracts thousands of people from all over the world. This year's headliners are Bad Bunny, Blackpink, and Frank Ocean.
"Crying … vomiting… screaming," Uncle Waffles wrote on Instagram when the line-up was announced in January.
The amapiano DJ finally got to show festivalgoers what she is made of this past weekend when she performed in the Sonora tent.
"‘Chela day uno," she wrote on day one.

South Africans praised Uncle Waffles, whose real name is Lungelihle Zwane, for performing at one of the biggest music festivals in the world.
"Shine baby shine," Moozlie commented.
Boity added: "Gone star!
Shekhinah and Lady Du also showed Uncle Waffles some love in the comments section.

Noticeably absent from this year's event was DJ Black Coffee. The internationally-renowned DJ has performed at the festival since 2016 and was last seen at the 2022 Coachella line-up.
The 2023 Coachella festival brought out some of the biggest stars. Kendall Jenner was spotted in the crowd supporting her rumoured boyfriend, Bad Bunny, during his set.

Kendall's big sister, Kourtney Kardashian, was also pictured supporting her husband Travis Barker during Blink 182's performance.

Uncle Waffles will return to the Coachella stage in a few days for the second and final weekend of the festival.
