Thank you for everything - Elton John performs at final show
Coldplay paid tribute to Elton John during the final show of his 'Farewell Tour'.
Sir Elton John is hanging up his mic after more than 50 years of being on tour.
The 76-year-old wrapped up his 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour' in Sweden on Saturday. It is the last time his fans will see him on tour.
British band Coldplay paid tribute to the five-time Grammy Award winner during their own show in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The show was taking place at the same time as Elton's concert. Coldplay's lead singer, Chris Martin, appeared onscreen to wish Elton well.
“Elton, we want to say from all of us here, from all the bands and all the artists that you’ve loved and inspired and helped, we just love you so much. We are so grateful for everything you’ve done for us, everything you’ve done for the AIDS Foundation. Every time you’ve been kind to anybody, everything you have done for LGBTQ, everything you have done for fashion...we're gonna miss you so much," he said.

Before thanking Elton for his contribution to the music industry, Coldplay performed a cover of Elton's 1972 classic, 'Rocket Man' (I Think It's Going to Be a Long, Long Time).

Elton's farewell tour saw him perform 330 shows. He wrapped the American leg of the tour in November 2022.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle shared a special video message for the star at his final show in the US.
"Thank you for entertaining everybody for so many decades. Thank you for being the friend that you were for my mum, thank you for being our friend. Thank you for being a friend to our kids and thank you for entertaining people right around the world," Harry said in the video.

While Elton has said goodbye to his touring career, he has not ruled out a residency.
Stars like Usher, Adele, and Celine Dion have had major success with residency shows.
“It [would be] similar to what Kate Bush did at the Hammersmith Apollo [in 2014]. She came on and played for three weeks to 4,000 people a night. If I do that, I don’t want to sing ‘Crocodile Rock’ again and I don’t really want to sing ‘Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting’ again. They are wonderful songs. They have done me very well. But there are other songs like ‘Original Sin’ and ‘American Triangle’ that I want to sing," he told Rolling Stone magazine a few years ago.
