Selena Gomez says her new single is not about The Weeknd

Selena Gomez has denied claims that her new single, 'Single Soon', is about her ex Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd.
Selena Gomez released 'Single Soon' on Saturday, 26 August.
Some of her fans are convinced that the single is about her ex, The Weeknd.
The two of them started dating in January 2021. However, the relationship only lasted ten months.

Now fans are convinced that Selena's song is about the failed relationship.
Twitter account, 'Hollywood Life', wrote: “Fans believe that [the song] is about her romance with The Weeknd”.
Selena responded to the Tweet: “Couldn’t be more false."
She took to Instagram to explain the inspiration behind the song.
The 31-year-old says the song is about loving yourself and enjoying your own company.
"Thank you guys for all the love on Single Soon!!! It’s a playful anthem about being comfortable in your own skin and loving your own company… and it’s also really fun to dance to!" she wrote on Instagram.
Her friend, Taylor Swift took to Instagram Stories to celebrate Gomez.
“When your bestie is the bestest,” she wrote on Instagram Story on Saturday (26 August).
She added: “Will be dancing to this forever methinks.”
