Tributes are pouring in for Opera singer June Kraus, who was also the mother of musician and YoTv star Psyfo Ngwenya.
South African musician and actor Sipho 'Psyfo' Ngwenya has announced the death of his mother, opera singer June Kraus.
The ‘Hamba’ hitmaker took to Instagram to share the sad news. He also wrote a heartfelt tribute to his mother, thanking her for offering him a better life.
“You gave me a new destiny and a chance for a better life. As heartbreaking as it is to type this I am also happy that you lived a full life and took your last breath doing what you love doing most, travelling to other countries. We will miss you and love you always,” he wrote.
Kraus adopted Psyfo at the age of 11 after his mother passed away.
She is known and loved for her incredible voice, which has seen her perform for the likes of the late Nelson Mandela and FW De Klerk. Her voice has also led to her having shows in Vienna, Nice, Verona, and Salzburg.
The phenomenal singer and teacher also founded the June Kraus International Academy for the Performing Arts.
Tributes have been pouring in since the announcement of her passing.
One of the people who paid tribute is her daughter-in-law, Mirah Aamirah.
"So many memories and stories to tell about mama June ❤️ but most importantly, thank you for welcoming me into your family and home... to our diva in Africa," she wrote.
