R&B star Jesse Powell dies at 51
Jesse Powell, whose famous song 'You' hit the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, took his last breath on Tuesday.
Condolences are pouring in for R&B star Jesse Powell.
The 90s R&B star died on Tuesday at his home - a day after celebrating his 51st birthday.
The announcement of his death was shared by his sister, Grammy Award-winning star Tamara Powell, on Wednesday.
She wrote that Jesse died peacefully. He was at his Los Angeles home when he took his last breath.
"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and uncle Jesse Powell. He passed away peacefully in his Los Angeles home," she wrote on Instagram.

The 'Let's Go' singer asked for privacy as the family deals with the loss of their brother.
"The family asks for privacy at this time as we mourn the tremendous loss and celebrate his everlasting legacy," she wrote.
"Jesse loved music and he especially loved his fans who supported him throughout his career. We want you all to know that you meant the world to him," she added.
Jesse will be remembered for his amazing music. His hit single, 'You', reached No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard charts and No. 2 on the R&B charts.
His debut album, 'All I Need', got listed on the Billboard R&B music list at no.32. It was released in 1996. At the time of his death, he had released four albums.
Jesse was raised in Gary, Indiana and was discovered by American record executive, musician, and record producer, Louil Silas Jr.
Tamara described him as the "best big brother".
"That voice! Aside from being one of the best R&B male vocalists out there, you were the best big brother ever. I loved you so much. 🥺 I'm thankful that we were so close; a whole mess all the time. We absolutely adored you "Jet" & our family will not be the same without you," she wrote on Instagram.
Stars such as Deborah Cox have sent their condolences to the family. "My deep condolences to you and the family. He was so lovely. Amazing talent!" wrote Deborah.
Sy Smith wrote: "I’m so sorry to hear this. Sending you and your family so much love."
