Oscar 'Oskido' Mdlongwa is one of the highest-paid DJs and producers in South Africa, but the 54-year-old doesn't base his success on how many flashy cars he has in his garage.

The 'Back to the Future' hitmaker, who has several businesses under his name, is all about investing his money wisely. He wants his fans to do the same and has encouraged them to invest in themselves.

"It’s never too late to be what you want to be, go out there and make sure that you follow your dreams. Once you know what you want to do, focus on it. Invest in yourself. That’s the best thing you can do," DJ Oskido said in a video posted on his Instagram page.

He says even slay queens invest in themselves.

“They know who are the big spenders and attack them... They’ve mastered the slay queen game... So whatever department or whatever God has given you, whatever you want to do, make sure that you focus on it. Don't lose focus. If you make mistakes, you learn... What’s key is that you invest in yourself and, you know, that interest is for life," he said.

Oskido went back to school earlier this year. He enrolled in a five-month course to improve his project management skills.

DJ Zinhle threw Oskido a graduation party a few weeks ago. The DJs are close friends and regularly support each other's endeavours.

Oskido famously gave Zinhle R200,000 after she told him she was pregnant with her first child, Kairo Forbes - whom she shares with rapper AKA.

Zinhle revealed on her reality show, 'The Unexpected', that she was nervous about telling people she was pregnant with her second child, including Oskido.

"I feel like it's so tough to just have to report to everyone that I am a 50-thousand-year-old who's pregnant ... [Oskido] was cool, he even gave me money. He gave me a lot of money, about R200 000 when I told him I was pregnant because I think he was just worried... Hopefully, he can give me the same reaction and maybe even top it up a little bit more,” she joked.
