The death of jazz legend Hugh Masekela has left a huge hole in the music industry, but his legacy lives on in his songs.
Bra Hugh died on Tuesday after losing his battle with prostate cancer.
His family said in a statement that he "passed peacefully in Johannesburg, South Africa, surrounded by his family".
Tributes poured in for the music veteran from all over the world.
Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa summed up what Bra Hugh meant to South Africa.
"A baobab tree has fallen, the nation has lost a one of a kind musician with the passing of Jazz legend bra Hugh Masekela. We can safely say bra Hugh was one of the great architects of Afro-Jazz and he uplifted the soul of our nation through his timeless music," he wrote on Twitter.
