Lionel Richie is peeved with Diana Ross over Beyoncé show

The 'Stuck On You' singer jokes that he has been trying to get Diana Ross on stage with him for 37 years but she's over there singing 'Happy Birthday' to Beyoncé.
Lionel Richie has a bone to pick with Diana Ross after her recent appearance at a Beyoncé concert.
The 74-year-old joked that he has been trying to get the music icon to perform with him for nearly four decades, but she always declines. The award-winning musicians previously worked together on their hit song, 'Endless Love'.
One person Diana has made time for is Queen B. The 79-year-old surprised Beyoncé on her birthday during the Los Angeles leg of her 'Renaissance World Tour'.
Diana led the audience, which included stars such as Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Timothée Chalamet, in singing "Happy Birthday'.
A stunned Beyoncé could not stop smiling and hugging the music legend. Lionel was even more stunned after seeing clips from the show!
"There is a song I want to do and for 37 years I have tried my best to get Miss Diana Ross to show up on this stage right here... She has told me 'no' for 37 years. What did you think she was gonna do? Show up tonight? The woman ain’t coming. She’s over there singing 'Happy Birthday' to Beyoncé. Pissed me off," he joked.

Lionel and Diana recorded 'Endless Love' in 1981. The track is considered one of the greatest love songs of all time.
Lionel told Andy Cohen on 'Watch What Happens Live' in 2021 that they had prayed for a hit record but had no idea that the song would spend nine weeks at #1 in America.
"It was the song of life. Every once in a while you get one of 'those songs', but I had no idea that it was going to be to that impact," he said.
Lionel and Diana last performed 'Endless Love' live together at the 54th Annual Academy Awards in 1982.
Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross later recorded a duet of their own, making the song even more popular.
Their 1994 version of the song was also critically acclaimed. It featured in the top 10 on the US charts. It remains one of Luther's biggest songs to date.
Lionel also sang a duet of 'Endless Love' with Shania Twain.
