Britney Spears reportedly working on new album

Back in the studio? Britney allegedly has a duets album in the works and it could feature some A-list singers.
It's been seven years since Britney Spears released a new album, but it looks like the singer has something exciting planned for 2023.
According to The Sun, Britney is working on a new duets album. The 41-year-old reportedly hopes to collaborate with Sam Smith, Dua Lipa, and Ariana Grande.
“Britney will not go out and promote anything current, so a duets album is a good way of her avoiding having to do any promotion while still getting the tracks played around the world," a source told the publication.
Britney announced in 2019 that she was taking an indefinite break from her music career. She said at the time that the hiatus was to focus her energy on her family.
But the 'Toxic' hitmaker revealed in a 2021 Instagram post that she quit performing as revenge for the "awful things" that were done to her during her 13-year conservatorship.
Britney revealed in another post in 2022 that she probably won't perform again.
"I’m pretty traumatised for life and yes I’m p***ed as f**k and no I won’t probably perform again just because I’m stubborn and I will make my point," she wrote.

Britney Spears and Elton John
The last time Britney released new music was 2022's 'Hold Me Down' with music icon Elton John.
Britney hasn't given up on music entirely. She regularly posts videos of herself on Instagram dancing to some of her favourite songs.
Music sources believe a duets album is just what Britney needs to help her get back in the game without putting too much pressure on herself.
“Each day is being taken as it comes, and this is a very low-risk way of staying connected with her fans while also opening up some amazing collaborations," the source told The Sun.
Britney's last studio album, 'Glory', received fairly good reviews when it was released in 2016. The album debuted in the top five on the Billboard 200 - her ninth consecutive offering to do so.
It featured tracks such as 'Make Me', 'Slumber Party', 'Do You Wanna Come Over?', and 'Private Show'.
