We bring you a list of five foods that can help you burn fat.
Many of us can list fatty foods that can make us gain lots of weight and cause us to be sick, but did you know that there are also foods that help you burn fat?!
We take a look at a list of those below:
Green tea
Green tea has many great benefits, such as lowering the risk of cancer, but did you know it can also help burn fat? According to the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, green tea contains a polyphenol called the Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). This polyphenol speeds up your metabolism and helps burn fat.
Hot peppers
Including hot peppers in your meals can actually help you burn fat. These peppers contain a compound called Capsaicin. The compound is what makes the peppers hot. One of the benefits it has is that it heats up the body, making it melt additional calories. This results in fat loss. Capsaicin also boosts the body's ability to convert food into energy.
Fish
Fish is full of protein and protein builds muscles, which results in the burning of fat.
Whole grain
Choosing to eat whole grain foods such as oats, brown rice, and whole-wheat bread will not only leave you feeling fuller for longer, but it will also help you burn fat. Whole grain foods, especially those rich in fiber, take extra energy to break down and they also digest slowly.
Berries
Need an excuse to eat that bowl of strawberries?
Strawberries, cherries, blackberries, blueberries, and blackcurrants contain flavonoids called anthocyanins. One of the benefits of anthocyanins is that it decreases fat absorption.
So, go right ahead and snack on that bowl of berries. It will do you good!
