Monday Motivation: choose to live
Updated | By Poelano Malema
Keeping our hope alive is the only way we will end the pandemic of suicide...
Allow me to call suicide a pandemic that the world is currently dealing with.
It is extremely sad that every year we have to bury people we love so dearly because they have decided that life is just not worth living anymore.
On September 10, the globe will be observing World Suicide Prevention Day. As we head towards that day, I urge you to be a part of those who will choose to live.
Truth is that there is light despite all the darkness that you are facing.

Understand that many great things are birthed through pain. All of us who are here today are a product of women who endured labour pains to ensure we are given a chance to live.
We also know that the rainbow comes after the rain. We also know that after the storm, the sun will shine again.
What I am trying to show you is that don’t allow your hope to die because of the difficulties that you are facing.
It is as if life is made in such a way that if you just hold on a little bit longer, your breakthrough will come - you will see the light which is at the end of the tunnel. You will also come out stronger and wiser.
Only those who are resilient, and hopeful get to see the best that life has to offer.
So, the motivation for this week is to hold on a little bit longer and allow the process to pass.
Suicide is not an option!
As Roy T. Bennett once said: “Never lose hope. Storms make people stronger and never last forever.”
There will be a brighter day tomorrow.
