Holiday season: A perfect time to reflect with gratitude
Updated | By Poelano Malema
As the year draws to a close, it's a perfect time to reflect, appreciate what you've accomplished so far, and identify areas for improvement before you enter 2023.
In a few weeks, we will say goodbye to 2022.
The Festive Season is the perfect time to look back with gratitude.
For some people, the year came with blessings, while for others, it might have been a difficult year.
Despite all that has happened, it's important to give yourself a pat on the back for what you've accomplished.
The Festive Season is a time to be merry and to appreciate friends and family. But even as you do that, remember to also appreciate yourself.
Self-appreciation is crucial because it allows you to focus on your strengths and to channel your energy towards positive thoughts.

As you will be looking for ways to show that appreciation - and maybe even purchase gifts for your loved ones, don't forget to do the same for yourself. Often in life we wait for others to appreciate us, but don't do the same for ourselves.
So whether it is buying yourself something that will be a token of appreciation, booking yourself into a spa, going on a solo vacation, whatever you desire, this is the perfect time to thank yourself for making it this far.
Your gratitude will lay a good foundation for the year new.
I live in the space of thankfulness — and for that, I have been rewarded a million times over. I started out giving thanks for small things, and the more thankful I became, the more my bounty increased. That’s because — for sure — what you focus on expands. When you focus on the goodness in life, you create more of it.- Oprah Winfrey
