Updated | By Poelano Malema
On what would have been Michael Jackson's 64th birthday, East Coast Gold presents the best of his music with a special tribute.
Michael Jackson has been labeled the most successful entertainer of all time.
He was born on 29 August 1958 in Gary, Indiana, United States and was the eighth child of Joe and Katherine Jackson.
At the age of five, he won the hearts of many who followed their family music group, The Jackson Five.
In the 1970s, he went solo and became a hit. In 1973, he released ‘Music & Me’, followed by 'Forever, Michael' in 1975.

One of his biggest albums was ‘Thriller’, which was released in 1982 and sold over 75-million copies. The album also won him seven Grammy awards.
Michael did not only revolutionise music, but also dance. He introduced his famous dance, ‘Moonwalk’, in 1983. To this day, 13 years after his death, MJ continues to be influential in the music industry.
The list of awards he has won are too many to count, however, some of them include 16 World Music Awards and 39 Guinness World Record Awards.
Michael Jackson’s voice and dance abilities placed him in a league of his own where he was proudly declared, 'The King of Pop'.
East Coast Gold has a special tribute to honour his legacy. We will be playing some of his biggest songs. Listen to ECG here.
