Fire breaks out at Merebank apartment block

Several people have been transported to hospital following a fire at a block of flats in Merebank, south of Durban.
Rescue Care's, Garrith Jamieson says five people were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation.
Jamieson says some of the injured refused to go to hospital.
"On arrival, paramedics from Durban Fire Department were already in attendance with SAPS and EMRS ambulance services. At this stage, the cause of the fire is unknown however, Police and the Durban Fire Department will be investigating further," Jamieson said.

Firefighters have managed to put the fire out.
