DUT students to receive outstanding allowances
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
After months of waiting, the SRC at the Durban University of Technology says more than 6000 students there will finally receive their S-Bux payments - allowances needed for meals and textbooks.
Earlier this year, NSFAS said it needed more time to finalise the allocation of funds.
The SRC's Lesley Ngazire says it's a stressful time for students, who need their books to study for tests due to begin next week.
"We managed to raise concerns about those students not receiving their allowances. We are hoping that by next week these [needs] will be satisfied," Ngazire said.
