Bodies of missing KZN trio found in Dundee river

Police in Dundeehave now recovered a third body in the case of a missing warrant officer - who disappeared over week ago - along with his wife and a friend.

Jakes Juggan had apparently gone on patrol in an official police vehicle on Friday the 23rd amidst heavy rains. He was accompanied by with his wife, Shumane and friend Ashok Rajoo.

A search team pulled Rajoo's body from a river this afternoon.

This morning - the team recovered the body of warrant officer, Juggan from the same river. 

A decomposed body, believed to be Jaggan's wife, was found inside a police vehicle on Sunday. DNA tests are being conducted to confirm the identity.

The police's Thulani Zwane says the third body was found 7 kilometres away from where the vehicle was discovered.

"The last outstanding body that was still missing from Dundee has been found this afternoon. The body was found by our search and rescue team that were working around the clock at Dundee area to look for the three people that were reported missing. 

"It appeared that while they were driving the police vehicle, it is alleged that they were swept away by a flooded river and they drowned," Zwane said.

Zwane says they have opened an inquest docket for further investigation.
