An eShowe security guard - accused of shooting dead a 31-year-old man who was fishing at a private dam - has abandoned his bid for bail.

21-year-old Andiswa Magwaza appeared before a local magistrate yesterday. He was expected to make a formal bail application.
But his legal aid attorney said at the last minute - that her client had changed his mind. He didn't say why though.
Magwaza is due back in court next month.
