Noah Cyrus has been announced as one of the performers for the 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards taking place this weekend.

The 17-year-old will be performing her single, 'Stay Together', for the first time on TV.

Once known as Miley Cyrus' little sister, Noah is making a name for herself in the music industry.

Her debut song, 'Make Me (Cry)', was released in November last year to critical acclaim. The single, which features English singer Labrinth, is at number 13 on the Coca-Cola Top 40's April 29 chart.

The song is off Noah's upcoming debut album, 'NC-17'.

Other artists performing at MTV's awards ceremony include Big Sean, Pitbull, and former Fifth Harmony group member Camila Cabello.

South African comedian Trevor Noah could walk away with a golden popcorn statue at the relaunched awards.

Previously known as the MTV Movie Awards, the event now includes TV nominees.

Trevor is nominated in the "Best Host" category alongside Ellen DeGeneres, John Oliver, RuPaul, and Samantha Bee.

The MTV Movie and TV Awards are taking place in Los Angeles on Sunday, May 7.

Catch the Coca-Cola Top 40 with Carol Ofori and Ricky on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.
