AKA hinted a few weeks ago that he could be releasing a new album later this year, but it won't be under his record label and management company, Vth Season.

The rapper has formally ended his business relationship with the company, six months after announcing his intentions to break ties with the company.

The 'Congratulate' hitmaker dissed Vth Season owner,  Raphael Benza, in a series of tweets in 2016.

“Nobody wants to deal with Raphael Benza . . . This is not a secret,” he tweeted.

The rapper has started his own company, Beam Group, and is set to release future music under his own brand.

"The process of establishing BEAM from scratch has not been easy, but has been liberating as I have a great business team to lean on. Thus BEAM's focus is not just music, as my ultimate aim is to be a multi-investor, with success in different industries," he said in a statement.

Despite his eyebrow-raising tweets about Raphael, AKA appears to be leaving Vth Season on good terms, with both saying they have "mutually parted ways".

"I have the utmost respect for the Vth Season team. Together, we created magic. I have learnt a lot from the music industry and it's time for me to start building my own legacy and become South Africa's first Music Mogul," he said in a statement.

We look forward to hearing new music from the rapper, and can't wait to see what he does under his own management.

AKA currently has two singles on the Coca-Cola Top 40 chart. His collaboration with Anatii, 'Don't Forget To Pray', is sitting at number 14 on the chart, while 'The World Is Yours' is at number 17.
